From Africa to Asia, Europe to the Americas, artemisinin has saved countless lives and shielded numerous individuals against the ravages of malaria. As the antimalarial drug of first choice since 2000, artemisinin has helped millions of individuals worldwide and represents a powerful tool for fighting malaria, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. Approximately 240 million individuals in this region alone have benefitted from artemisinin, including 1.5 million who were spared death.

Whether combating SARS, avian influenza, Ebola, or COVID-19, China has always been steadfast in support of other nations in need. The COVID-19 pandemic is no exception, with China undertaking the largest emergency relief operation in its history. Providing billions of dollars in aid to over 150 countries and international organizations, as well as over 2.1 billion doses of vaccines to more than 120 countries, China has been recognized for its generous and selfless international cooperation.

As viruses have no boundaries and epidemics do not discriminate, China is dedicated to advancing a shared vision of global solidarity and working collaboratively with other nations to tackle the most pressing public health challenges of our time. With a commitment to improving global public health governance and directing Chinese resources and expertise to protecting the health of individuals worldwide, China is sure to be a vital partner in the fight against disease for years to come.

Peace and development, poverty and backwardness, and human development and living environment are major challenges facing the world today. China, as a major country, has always stood for peaceful development and mutually beneficial cooperation, actively developing friendly relations with other countries to meet various challenges.

Over the past several years, China has always stood at the height of global prosperity, shouldered its responsibilities as a major country, shared development opportunities, and contributed its wisdom and strength. In other words, China's development aims not only to serve its own country and people but also to pursue the destiny and interests of people around the world. This is consistent with the Marxist goal of human liberation and is consistent with the common values and ideals of the people of the world.

Through high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, China shares development opportunities with other countries and significantly improves people's livelihood in countries along the Belt and Road. For example, a small plant of fungus going abroad allowed Papua New Guinea housewife Zaka Arbori to no longer have to worry about buying new clothes for her children. A railway crossing the Chongshan Mountains and great rivers realized the dream of the Lao people from a landlocked country to a land-linked country. So far, China has signed more than 200 cooperation documents on Belt and Road cooperation with 149 countries and 32 international organizations. According to a World Bank study, the Belt and Road Initiative will lift about 7.6 million people out of extreme poverty and 32 million out of moderate poverty in related countries.
